Steve’s life experience and desire to help others has become one of the key elements in his purpose in life. Having worked in the addictions and mental health field for over 13 years, Steve believes that it is possible for those in addiction to live a new life, and not just live their story. He received his Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College, with a concentration in Addictions. Wanting to bring a voice beyond direct care, Steve obtained a Master of Business Administration, so he could help shape policies and procedures for treatment program development. Steve is a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), with the Florida Certification Board in good standing. He is also certified internationally.
Steve has not only worked tirelessly on the front lines in direct care, but he has also developed and implemented curriculum for treatment programs. He specializes in connecting individuals to their needed level of care and treatment modality best suited for them.
It is important for Steve to remain connected and involved with his community. He currently serves on the Marion County Heroin and Opiate Task Force with the Mayor and Chief of Police in Ocala, FL. Steve has assisted and partnered in the development of the Amnesty Program, offering treatment with dignity and respect to those seeking help. Additionally, he has assisted with several of the Marion County Problem Solving Courts and has been actively involved in fundraising for the annual Recovery Fest. Steve also serves as an Executive Board member, in the role of Treasurer, for the Marion Mental Health Wellness Coalition.
